This morning at 8 AM, Heather shuffled out of bed and stood still at its foot, which is when incontinence happens if I don’t intervene immediately. So, I sprang into action, guiding her by the shoulders to the bathroom where I got her seated for a pee. Her diaper was heavy as usual, so I put a clean one on her legs before she got up. After a rinse with the portable bidet bottle, I left her alone to shuffle around a bit while I snuck back to bed for a few minutes to try to ease into the morning with a slightly more relaxed mind.
As I lay there in the still warm bed, I heard her make her way downstairs. No worry… I could catch up in a few minutes. She could be on her own in her diaper and bra without concern. Here comes the maximum alertness part. As I lay there, I heard the unmistakable sound of Heather fiddling with the front door lock!
That’s the fastest I’ve ever leaped from bed and descended the stairs. (She hadn’t actually opened it, but I was pretty sure there was going to be a bit of drama on the sidewalk in front of the house.) Anyway… that’s one way to get the day started!
Dear John… and Heather,
your ‘morning’ description of events in that order are so familiar to me.
It’s very similar to what happens in this house also.. except that, Volker does not seem too interested in the front door.. )lucky me)

I’m glad to know we are not alone, Rosemary! As challenging as all of this is I try hard to find some humour in our plight. Please stay in touch 🙂
